Help Amanda!

Amanda Trimble is a 17 year old speedskater. She placed 5th as an alternate for the Jr World Team, is a National Silver medalist, and holds silver and bronze medals in distance races. She has skated in the American Cups, and is leaving Pittsburgh to go and train in Salt Lake City at the Olympic Oval. There, she advanced to compete in the World Cup Qualifier. Her sacrifices are immense and she was accepted in Salt Lake's program to skate as one of this nation's elite skaters. After Salt Lake, she continued her training in the Washington D.C. area. Her expenses are completely out of her parent's pocket! This high school student has given up junk foods, normal teenage social lifestyles, and living at home with her family to pursue her dream. She lives on a small budget and many times skates with hand me down equipment. Her small budget is running low and every day, she faces the realization that her dream may end at any time if the funding isn't available. That thought is devastating to this hard working kiddo! Her high school doesn't provide any funding for this sport they way that they do for football or cheerleading. Amanda gets up 6 days a week at 6am and works out at least 6 hours. The workouts include grueling dryland exercises along with ice time. And then she does her schooling. She has also participated in "giving back" to the community by helping special needs kids learn to skate. Please help her! I know that she can do it! She is a qualified athlete who can skate in the Olympic time trial this January, providing we can send her.
