Seminary Help for Aspiring Minister

Hello, I'm Laura. I've completed my first year of Seminary. I'm an aspiring Unitarian Universalist Minister. Unitarian Universalism comes from many sources and our clergy speak from different traditions. For instance, I come from the Druid path; being a Druid, I find makes me a better Unitarian Universalist and being a UU, I find, makes me a better Druid! Still, I tend to notice this overwhelming similarity in that we all want to serve our faith community and the greater world, in any way we can. I love that.

I work hard, and I'm honored by my academic merit scholarships, but finding a job is starting to make me feel kinship with the poor soul who had to spend eternity pushing a rock up the hill, only to have it roll back to the base just as he was about to finish his task.

--Hey, speaking of that, does anybody want to hire me to push rocks up a hill? I would never complain about being taken for granite.--

--I'd try work as a seamstress but my skills aren't very advanced. If someone refused to pay I'd barely be justified in sending them a threadening letter.--

As a wise old man in a bow-tie has said....
"The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice-versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant."

I want to be out there on the side of remembering the good things and reminding us all of what they can do.
