Tatiana's Handicap Accessible Van
Donation protected
Hi I am Tatiana's mom Kari, Tatiana was born with a rare brain disorder called schizencephaly. Because of her disorder she can't talk, walk, sit up on her own and is very limited to what she can do. She doesn't have control of the right side of her body, and uses a power chair to get around. She loves to be outside, going for walks, camping, swimming, playing with her brother and sisters and hanging out with family just like a normal 11 year old. In order for Tatiana to be able to do these things she needs a handicapped accessible van to go places. She gets Botox injections in her legs and has to wear AFO's everyday. It is very difficult to get Tatiana to her doctor appointments, and she's unable to attend most family functions. We are trying to get Tatiana a handicap accessible van, so she can enjoy the freedom of doing the things she loves to do like any other 11 year old. And also be able to get her to and from her doctor appointments. As Tatiana is getting older it is almost impossible for me to lift her at 70 pounds and she is outgrowing her car seat, that she doesn't fit in when we put it in our car anyway because she is too tall. At this point our only option is a handicapped accessible van. These vans are not cheap. The state helps with the cost of the conversion but not the van itself. There are very strict requirements we have to follow when purchasing a van. As they want it to last a long time because it's a one time donation.
Please help us make it possible for this special little girl to be able to do the things she loves to do with her family, and get to her doctor appointments. We would greatly appreciate any donation as every little bit helps.
