The Arc National Convention

The Arc National Convention is going to be in Bellevue, Washington this year and I would love to be able to attend.
The cost is rather high for me and I have only registered for one of the 3 days to attend but have chosen Sunday so that I can also attend the Research Luncheon.
I have been active in advocacy for several years and it is my goal to help promote a continuum of care concept. I believe that much work needs to be done to look at the family quality of life in addition to person-centered planning.
I am excited to learn that The Arc is now starting to look at health and safety of our community members with intellectual disabilities with the program HealthMeet. Healthmeet is funded by a cooperative agreement with The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities.
I am looking forward to participating in this project and attending the National Convention will be a great opportunity to learn more about HealthMeet and to network with other advocates.
Every little bit will help me to reach my goal of covering my registration expenses and is greatly appreciated!
