I am a mature student, returning to study now that my children are slightly old enough to manage without my full attention for a while.
I have been accepted onto Central School of Speech and Drama's MA Movement Studies programme. Only 10 students are accepted onto the course each year so I feel incredibly lucky. The cost is phenomenal though and I will have to commute to London twice weekly.
Since training as a dancer in the early 1990's I have worked in different sectors of theatre including youth theatre and education alongside performing my own work. My current classes include a special needs group, a dance group for the over 50's and primary school dance and drama groups. I believe nobody should be excluded from benefitting from the arts, be they older, younger or living with a disability. I have dreamt of going to drama school since I was 16, it's taken me nearly 30 years to get there but I am so excited and so READY. This is not an opportunity that I will waste. Once completed I intend to apply for work as a movement director in theatre and to continue to create my own performances.
