Help...gas monies and more needed. We still have a way to go before we can get the truck, SUV, and Suzuki truly roadworthy. The title on the SUV needs to be changed, two new tires for the F150 and the Suzuki have reached "critical need" status and of course, fuel monies are also needed; especially, I will be needing fuel money to get the SUV and Suzuki back to Colorado this week-end. PLEASE help as I have been here three months and would love to get home to my grandchildren. I offer each of you a warm handshake and a big thank you. Wicosani to each of you and those you love.
HEY!!! Boo. It's so quiet on here I'm beginning to wonder if "anybody's out there." :O) I would love to "give away" one or more of the great rewards for your donation to the "keeper of the cars". (That would be me.) They are listed below for your viewing pleasure. Be well my friends, stay STRONG!
Tuesday, September 11. We offer today Wicosani to the Spirit memories who crossed over in the WTC disaster, to the loved ones they left behind, and to all those beautiful people who are only now feeling the after effects of their heroism through illness. Be WELL and stay strong on your individual Journeys
Hey out there...I am so happy to report that the Pathfinder has been a joy to myself and the Fast Horse family project and has been working hard to haul heavy loads and get us to the various meetings we need to get to.
We are still in need however, of raising money for the a set of tire for "Susie", the Suzuki and "John" the Chevy F150, as well as being able to register the Pathfinder and the Chevy and get insurance on the three vehicles.
Since the inception of the project, I have covered these costs, but unbeknownst to most, I live on Social Security and Old Age Pension which barely covers the cost of my rent and utilities in Colorado, so I do need a little help from my friends this year.
Be well, stay strong on your individual Journeys and Wicosani to each of you and those you love.
Greetings and a warm hug on Saturday the 16th of August. Taking time to enjoy a beautiful day in the Black Hills by getting supplies and visiting friends in Rapid City.
I offer a huge Wopila to three wonderful donors who came together to purchase the Nissan before it was sold to anyone else. My friends Will, Bill, and Mary Jo have seen the overwhelming need for better transportation for the project and honored my request for help.
Still, help is needed to transfer the papers for the Nissan, get the Nissan, Suzuki and our F150 truck registered and insured as well as a new set of tires for the F150 and the Suzuki. It's amazing how easy it is to go through tires, mufflers and other undercarriage things on the reservation.
We deeply appreciate anything you can help with. See the rewards we offer below as a reminder of your part in helping a People with a hand up. Pilamaye for what you do in your service to your fellow man.
This Nissan Pathfinder will be a great vehicle for me and the project. However, I hear that it will cost much more in gas, but it is so needed. Please help how you can. Be well and Wicosani. Christinia
Susie Got stuck in the mud the other day when I was trying to get to base camp...alone. Pretty crazy making...but I did what I had to do while waiting for help to arrive...I got out of her and played in the mud...gooshing it happily between my toes. After an hour and a half (and as the sun was going down) help did arrive and for $75.00, pushed me out.
I absolutely love the flame that is reminiscent of the eagle feather. Well, I am reaching out again as my little Suzuki now has not only a drivers side door that does not work, but also the hatchback door won't open, and the passenger door handle is broken and only opens from the outside. Any help will be greatly appreciated. How about if those who can, donate even $1.00. If this message reaches 4,500 pair of eyes...there we are. :O) Be well each of you, stay strong on your individual Journey, and Wicosani to you and those you love. Christinia
It's day 5 of this post I believe. I still have visions of getting that new "used" vehicle, a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder. It is a 4/2 wheel drive. I believe it will become available in mid to late July. The amount posted here will not only buy the car, but will allow me to get it registered, get the tags, buy insurance and at least two new tires for each of them; the Pathfinder and a 1986 Ford F150 work truck that was donated three years ago.
As I stated in the earlier post, I need to pick up our first volunteers for 2013 in Rapid City, South Dakota and transport them back to the work site on Pine Ridge, a roughly 125 mile round trip, so this 1996 Nissan Pathfinder will do well to transport three International volunteers as well as their camping gear. For the last four years, we have managed to squeeze everyone in to the "mudbug", so it would be a bit of heaven to be able to spread out a bit.
What is a "Mudbug"? My sweet little 1992 Suzuki Swift was stuck in a huge mud bog in South Dakota. She was pushed out of the worst of it and went on to drive over and through the rest of it. Thereafter, she was christened the "mudbug". That was about four years ago and she continued to be of great service as my mini-RV, a delivery truck, hauling a four hundred pound roll of polyurethane bags, etc. She has been the "project working car" from the beginning picking up and returning international volunteers to the airport, doing the shopping for camp supplies, building materials, and groceries to total a minimum of 1,550 miles for the summer months. Now, she is in need of a rest from the heavy workload on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Susie needs undercarriage work, fender and hood and door replacements. Just this past summer, she was smashed into and now the new drivers door no longer opens and the new fender was totaled. I know that after this faithful service, it is time to retire Susie and keep her around town for shopping and errands. We have found a vehicle that we are seriously considering, but we need your help. Please help us get new transportation to continue our work on the earthen home building project.
