CCMHockey Invitation-Only Camp in Canada

Donation protected
Although Hunter leaves for Canada after his AA tryout tonight (June 17th) setting out at 9pm by car to the CCM Hockey Invitation-Only Skills Camp, his fund-raising will continue in the future to supplement to everything we spend on his hockey experience to help him achieve his USHL/NCAA/NHL or CJHL/CHL/NHL goal with a possible stop in the AHL.

If you have ideas of things he can make and or sell to produce hockey income, please share. Beaucoup fund raising is required if any kid is going to make a career out of hockey, coming from Florida.

Can a Florida Peewee Hockey Player Make it to the NHL?

Ice hockey is the Canadian pastime, a winter sport that requires (first and foremost): Ice. Understanding fundamentally that Florida is considered by most to be the exact opposite of Canada, not known for winter sports, one must ask, "How could a young Peewee hockey player in Florida get to play in the NHL?" Well, step one is to pay a ton of money for ice time to get chances like this one that my son has earned here.

Hunter's been selected to go to Canada for CCM's invitation-only skills clinic and to test all of the legendary manufacturer's hockey equipment.

Young elite hockey players are a focus of CCM, a hockey equipment manufacturer deeply routed in the legends of the sport, and they encourage youths with their slogan, "Start your legend." To be invited by CCM to an event that bears their name is an honor at any age. To be selected from Florida, as a peewee, to a CCM Skills Camp in Canada is, well, rarer than rare. Hunter is such a rarer than rare young hockey player with aspirations of making it to the NHL by way of an NCAA college hockey scholarship. He is taking it one expensive step at a time, and this next step is a big one: The CCM Skills Camp.

Without frozen ponds for non-stop, cost-free skating, and without outdoor community or backyard ice rinks on which to play, practice, and learn, Floridians must pay greatly for ice time. The hundreds (probably thousands) of hours of training, games, and really expensive equipment would cost a child tens of thousands of dollars to gain the capabilities, experience, and exposure required to make it to the NCAA and then on to the NHL. Geography and climate are not the only hockey deterrents to Florida youngsters - cost is even bigger.

Any amount above our $940 Skills Camp Fund goal will go toward all of the expensive training and equipment Hunter will continue to need to attain his ultimate goal of an NCAA college hockey scholarship. You may even be joining a cause to eventually bust one deserving young Floridian into the ranks of the most famous league of winter sport players in the world - the northern dominated, National Hockey League.
