One in every four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime.
Just last weekend my husband and I sat down with his cousin and her family to talk about taking a vacation. We laughted and watched her children play and her two year-old grandson trying hard to ride on one of those hover boards.
Today we get the call that her daughter will never get the opportunity to watch her own son grow up and play. At 19 years-old she became another victim of domestic violence. Her son lost both parents and her mother's life is changed forever.
Georgia ranked 13th in the nation for its rate of men killing women. Georgia has been in the top 20 for all 9 years of the study
As a matter of fact, when I searched to see if this story had made the local news in Savannah, I learned that it was the second case of the same nature to take place in Savannah in the past 5 days.
Boys who witness D.V. are twice as likely to abuse their own partners and children when they become adults
The purpose of this fund is to provide monetary assistance in the upcoming funeral arrangements as well as the providing some assistance to a mother who must now bury a daughter and raise a grand-child in addition to her other four children ages 12, 8, 5 and 3.
I ask for your help in raising funds to alleviate their financial burden during their time of need.
