Susanna's Final Act of Love!

Donation protected
In March our family was introduced to the story of an amazing little girl named Susanna. She was born in an eastern european country with Spina Bifida and went immediately to live in an orphanage.... without being given the critical surgery to close her back. When we heard her story she was 6 years old and had spent every day of those 6 years in her crib. We knew that Susanna needed to become a part of our family. Then we learned that she had a special friend. Will, the little boy in the crib next to hers, also had Spina Bifida and they had forged a special relationship. She would reach through the bars of their cribs and straighten his clothing, his blankets, and share her toys. If he was taken from the room, she would watch anxiously for him to return. Will needed to come home too! So, we started working very hard to get them home. We knew time was critical for Susanna....we just didn't know how critical. We received a heartbreaking call on May 30th....Susanna had passed away. A life tragically cut short by the lack of basic medical care. We were devastated that this sweet girl would never be a part of our family. We wondered....how can we travel to her orphanage and not come home with our sweet Susanna?? What about Will? Susanna had loved him....her love for him had introduced him to us....and it was clear that we needed to get him home! International adoption is very expensive. When we met Susanna we weren't thinking an adoption was in our near future, so we are starting from scratch. We are working hard to bring together the funds required to get him home and to modify our home to accommodate his special needs. We would be so grateful if you would prayerfully consider helping us get Will home! In doing so we strive to honor the life of one tiny little girl who, amidst horrible circumstances, found the courage to love!
