Soap & Towel gets A Fresh Start

In 2008 the Hanover High School Student Council started a service project called The Soap and Towel Drive focusing on collecting toiletries for homeless shelters across the South Shore of Boston.

The head of the project, Jazna Stannard, continued on this effort when entering college at Purdue University. Collaborating with honor societies including Alpha Kappa Psi, Delta Sigma Pi, Alpha Phi Omega, and Epsilon Nu Tau they took the drive (now campaign) to the campus!

Within a year Soap & Towel (nicknames S&T) became a name at Purdue! They expanded across the country to over 100 universities within 30 states.


Last March we were honored to be accepted and attend the Clinton Global Initiative University. We had a lot to do in very little time. We re-branded to A Fresh Start. No longer just dedicated to collecting soap but providing basic necessities, professional development, and personal financial stability to homeless shelters across the country.

We were then humbled to be asked to attend the Clinton Global Initiative - America Conference to represent the CGIU group for workforce development. Our founder Jazna Stannard attended a hand the opportunity to meet with President Clinton and Chelsea Clinton.

This coming week August 10-15th we will be attending the Millennium Campus Conference at the United Nations and we are beyond humbled to say they have asked us to speak on behalf of the growing challenge of homelessness in the United States.

Friends and Family we need your help! We're no longer a service project within a high school. We're expanding rapidly and have high ambitions to help the world! We have a plan to help more people and have a greater impact in this community we call our planet. We believe that homelessness is a local issue and we can "help locally to impact globally".
