Len needs your help!

Let us be clear, we are so appreciative of the love, support and especially prayers that have showered Len this past week. The power of your love and support has been tremendous, and Len needs that to continue. We have received many requests about the story and how you can help.

Here is his story...

One week ago Leonard Riley started experiencing pain in his back and trouble breathing. This pain progressed through the weekend to the point that he sought the advice of doctors. This decision, we believe, saved Len's life. Len was admitted to Methodist hospital on Monday, October 3rd.

After undergoing tests and a CAT scan, it was determined that Len had numerous blood clots in his lungs, leg and in his heart. The clots were putting a lot of stress on his heart function, thus causing it to swell up to dangerous proportions.

After 5 days of trying to dissolve the clots with anticoagulants, and the possibility of heart failure in the picture, it was determined on Saturday, October 8th that they would remove the clots surgically.

At 5:00PM on Saturday, Len was wheeled into the OR where he underwent "Open Heart" surgery, which lasted from 7:15PM-11:15PM.

During the surgery, doctors removed the clots in his heart and lungs and installed a filter to stop the clots in his legs from moving back into his heart or lungs.

Lenny has a long road of recovery ahead, not only physically, but financially also. Medical bills for the procedure, hospital stay and ongoing rehabilitation are going to be seemingly insurmountable.

Len has always cared more about people and his players than having a large paycheck, and we ask that you might consider showing your appreciation to his heart by giving a monetary gift to help ease the financial stress of this event.
