Emily VS MS

Donation protected
Well my name is Emily and I am 25 years old, I live in Melbourne, Australia. I was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis in 2009 after not being able to walk anymore. Since that time I haven't received a lot of medical assistance due to having the more rare sort of MS. As the name suggests my disease will only continue to progress as time goes on. At this time I can still walk however it is getting harder every day/week.

I have recently come into contact with Carmel Turner (www.msstemcell.com) who is one of 7 Australians who has had HSCT
(Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation) in Canberra, Australia.
Her MS has now stopped and she can walk again and a lot of other things she was not able to do. Carmel is a huge advocate for MS sufferers/this treatment and is proof of the success of this treatment.

This treatment is no longer available in in Australia and I'm trying to raise money to go to Germany or India, depending on which hospital accepts me.
For the treatment in Germany it is approx $78k not including flights etc.

Thank you for reading. Any help is appreciated, even if it's not a donation, sharing this link and spreading the word on HSCT for MS sufferers and other auto immune diseases is appreciated.

Update - I have decided to aim for India which has a cost of 40k and seems to be a bit easier to get acceptance for aswell. I should also mention I'm applying to get it done in Sydney and Canberra as well. Whilst it's unlikely they will accept me it's still worth a try. If they do accept me I would only need to pay for 3 months accommodation and living expenses and whatever extra medical costs there is.

Update 14/08/2013 - Hi, I have finally been accepted for HSCT. I was accepted last week for India. I just wanted to say its approx. 40k USD for the treatment & approx 6500 USD for the hotel costs. There will also be food, hygiene & laundry costs as well as things I haven't thought of yet. it's hard to get an exact figure but I'm thinking maybe at least 65k AUD. Anyway, I mainly wanted to say that the money donated from all the lovely people is currently in a savings account to earn any interest possible. I think it's important to remain transparent when so many people have kindly donated to a cause when honestly they don't know a whole lot about it. Thanks again everyone.
