Andy's Stroke Recovery Fund

Unexpected events are a part of life; we have all certainly had to deal with our own share of problems, in most cases we deal with these issues ourselves and move on,   often whenever something happens to one of our friends we are there to support them, which is good and very Canadian.

This August, one of my best friends (who happens to be related to me), suffered a major stroke.  His name is
Andrew Knowles.  Andy is a charitable fellow and constantly he is one of the first to donate to a cause.  

Whether it’s a buck and doe, or bowling for a cure, Andy always participates and always gives from the heart.

Today, I am thinking we should “pay it forward” and give Andy a hand.    

Now I am sure for those of you who know Andy, he won’t be fond of this idea, you see, he has some old-school British in him and can be pretty stubborn.   Hopefully he won’t stay mad at me for too long!

Andy is self-employed (Time Frame Software) so his income has of course dropped significantly.  He is currently still in hospital and is learning to walk, talk and is trying to get his eyesight back.   It will certainly be some time before he can get back to work.  Meanwhile the bills, mortgage payments and such still need to be paid.    

Rather than have them do something drastic like sell their house, I am hoping that we can step up and help him out for the next few months.

The beauty of this newfangled “crowdfunding” stuff is that the dollar amount does not matter; it comes down to the number of people that donate.  So give whatever you can, tell whoever you know that might know Andy  and together perhaps we can at least take care of some bills for him and his wife over the next few months.

Meanwhile I will try to keep the update page posted so you can monitor his progress.
