This is the first fund-raising event for Sam's Fund. A team of life-enthusiasts are gathering together to raise resources to fund life and suicide prevention as they challenge themselves to tackle the Lake Placid half marathon on this beautiful course in the Adirondack Mountains.
100% of donations goes straight to the Sam's Fund Life Matters.

The mission of Sam's fund is to provide an aspiring artist with the resources to develop their unique talents and pursue their passions.
Description:
Sam's Fund is a scholarship founded in 2013 in honor of Samuel David Crismon. Sam was an extraordinary young musician who aspired to be the best at everything he put his heart towards. To his family and friends, he was a continual source of encouragement and light. He made it impossible not to smile whenever he was near. Sam's life mattered.
On January 10, 2013, Sam took his own life. To his friends and family, Sam maintained that infectious smile, unwilling to introduce negativity into the lives of those he loved. To find a person with such zeal for life is a rarity, and something worth cherishing.
More than anything, Sam's passion was music. An avid songwriter, poet, and jazz guitarist, the guy was completely consumed with his love for music. A contributing factor to his downfall was the notion of failure Sam developed concerning his pursuit of music. He felt as though he had shot and missed the target; that at the young age of 26, opportunity had passed him by.
In response to the loss of their son and brother, The Crismon family has founded "Sam's Fund" with the intention to provide a young person with a second chance to pursue their dreams. The intent of this scholarship is to continue Sam's legacy by funding the life of another extraordinary young person. Life matters.
