Youth Convention "Dynamics" 2014

Hi Everybody!

I am submitting this request as a Transcarpathian district youth minister and the co-worker of KRISZ, which is a Reformed Youth Organization. Here in Transcarpathia, which is a district in Ukraine, every year we organize a convention called Dynamics. This is a very important occasion among our regular events (camps, retreat weekends, etc.), because youth are invited to attend from the whole district. Teenagers preparing for confirmation meet here, where they get more information about KRISZ, and they are also introduced to our annual theme, that our summer camps expand on.

Thanks to God, Dynamics is very popular among our youth. We reached 1600 participants, which lead to the need for a larger venue than the church we were using before. For this reason we have to organize this event outdoors. We don't have appropriate tents for the program so the weather was always a challenging issue to deal with in the past. In spite of all the difficulties, we have managed with God's help. We do have a permanent location, which is a good start.

Over 100 volunteers are helping us in the preparations, 5-6 churches take on food costs, the sound system is provided by a Transcarpathian presbyter, and 90% of our speakers are attending at their own expense. Despite of a lot of volunteer work and offerings, however, our organization lacks funds. We are sustaining KRISZ with grant applications provided by the Hungarian government, but these are uncertain sources. We don't have any kind of support from the Ukrainian government. Unfortunately, grants are decreasing, and the economic situation of the Transcarpathian church is far from being stable, just like the economic situation of Ukraine.

We would need 5000 euros in order to be able to rent a suitable tent, or what would be even better in the long run: build a pavilion.

We have volunteers, churches that help Dynamics, food is provided, but we don't have the funds for renting a tent or building a covered arena. I ask you to consider our needs and finance us if possible.

+ Information: In relation to the tent we require for Dynamic, the fundraising is ongoing because the need is still there, and it would be great if we could raise the money for Dynamic 2014! If we succeeded and have our own tent for two thousand people it will not only be useful at Dynamic. Primarily this will be the main goal, but we could organise different Christian concerts, dances, and we could also let the tent to the church district and to the congregations for a small amount of money. It would not be a great income for us, but we would be happy, as every little helps. In this way we can give help to the church district and to the congregations.
