Update 6/21/13: Tsriel (Arran) has had his internet services suspended by the school. According to their notice, he has dorm space in the building until next Tuesday, June 25th, but all services aside from the dorm space will be suspended until payment arrives. His father has stated the money he transferred may not arrive until Monday. Afterwards, Tsriel will be on the streets with just enough cash to rent a hotel for a day or two. We have his number for emergency contact only since it costs credits to fill his phone up for any updates.

Tsriel has been having a terrible experience. His father sent him out of country to China to learn Chinese in the hopes he'd follow in his father's business footsteps, but he wanted absolutely nothing to do with it. Upon arriving, a lunch trip turned into a hospital one as he came down with food poisoning. He had to stay out of classes until the situation was fixed, and afterwards, when returning, he was too far behind in his classes to continue.
His father has thus far completely been in charge of his funds. He's unable to get a job, was never given anything more than his father considered "necessary" in cash to purchase food and rent, and he does not know enough of the language to have a bare conversation with anyone. When it was learned he could not continue classes at that school, instead of listening to him, his father insisted he go to ANOTHER school, and moved him to a private tutor with a school that doesn't even allow private tutoring. There was a huge snafu of missing the rent because his father didn't send the money on time, and he was almost evicted to the streets with nowhere to go.
Someone helped seal the deal through negotiation on the assumption his father would pay the funds on time. Money always speaks in China.
At the new school, everything was going fine until recently. His father is a week late on paying the funds to the school, and the school is threatening to boot him out. His father is absolutely taking no responsibility for not getting the funds in on time, blaming Tsriel for somehow being the cause of all of this. The funds were withheld by his father's company for proof Tsriel was in China that his father didn't push through in time, resulting in the severe delay.
Tsriel is 11 hours from having his connection severed with threat of eviction and his father is not budging on the matter. He wants to go to Canada (he has been ever since the beginning of this. China was NOT his plan.) The school is blaming Tsriel, even though his father is the pure financial owner in the matter. He has never sent him any more money than absolutely necessary to pay food and school funds (and rent if needed, but this recent school provided housing instead).
At this point in time, he has absolutely no allies in China, and his father has over the time of this whole fiasco consistently ignored Tsriel's wishes to return home, or head to Canada to get the education he wanted in the first place.
We need to get funds together pronto to send him to Canada from China. Our goal is to get him a plane ticket to pay his way from China to Canada and stay with one of the many friends that he has there, hoping to turn it into a roommate situation and then he can obtain a job (He has Canadian citizenship). He's specifically looking at Vancouver or Burnaby.
I'm currently setting the goal at $1,000 for this to happen, since this is way too close to a deadline and the price of the tickets will most likely be high. I'm still working out a plan on what we're even going to do if we can't get something done within those 11 hours, since communication will be difficult on Tsriel's end. If you guys can signal boost this out and help us, it would be very much appreciated. We need to get our friend out of there.
