Palmyra Black Knights Sled Hockey

The PBK Sled Hockey Program was founded in 2012. It is a not-for-profit, 100% volunteer-based organization. Our parent organization, USA Hockey (USAH), is the National Governing Body for the sport of ice hockey in the United States (www.usahockey.com). In conjunction with USAH, our mission is to promote the growth of disabled (adaptive) ice hockey for youth and adults with a physical disability. Our program is USA Hockey sanctioned, and affiliated with the PBK Organization; the Black Knights, a 501(c)(3) (charitable organization) is defined by its mission to grow the sport of adaptive ice hockey, permitting "everyBODY" to have an opportunity to participate.

The Black Knights were formed to allow persons with a physical disability in the Greater Hershey/Harrisburg area to play an adaptive sport. To date, there are 22 players, ages ranging from 8 to 35. Our players have disabilities that include Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Ehlers"“Danlos Syndrome, Spinal Cord Injuries, Autism, and several Wounded Warriors.

In the greater Harrisburg area, there are no other adaptive sport opportunities for persons with a physical disability. Sled hockey gives them absolute freedom & control when they are on the ice. We want to continue to provide this opportunity to as many disabled individuals in our surrounding area as possible, while maintaining our goals for our current players.

We are grateful to our sponsors and supporters in helping our organization continue to affect the lives of people with disabilities across the Hershey-Harrisburg (Central PA) area and we thank YOU for your generous support!
