Konrad's Medical treatment

My name is lisa and ive set up this page for my little boy Konrad who as just turned 2 and has scoliosis.
Konrad was born with a sacral dimple at the bottom of his spine, a pedeatric doctor at prince charles hopsital checked konrad over and told as that there was no reason for concern and discharged us.
During konrads first year i noticed little things, he would lean to the side, he stood funny, and was very unsteady on his feet, he also suffered with his bowel movements. i was told that it was all in my head and konrad was fine.
konrad started walking at 12months at 14 months i noticed the curve, konrad was seen by a gp and referred to pedeatrics, it was confirmed that konrad had a definate curve, we was told that a MRI scan would b needed she arranged for a him to see a orthopaedic doctor.
we attended the appointment at the royal glamorgan hospital and was told that we would be able to straighten konrads spine ourselfs and she had no concerns that it would get worse, she also told us that konrads legs was not different in lengths. i disagreed and demanding a second opinion.
in january this year konrad was seen by another orthopaedic doctor she took one look at konrads back and done a urgent referal to cardiff childrens hospital orthopaedic spinal doctor. she also confirmed that konrads legs was not the same length and that his hip bones where immature. we meet with the doctor in feb who confirmed that konrad had a curve of 29 degrees, he requested a MRI scan and told us to come back in june and he would have the results.
I contacted the MRI department myself and was told that konrad was pencilled in for october i explained that his doctor requested the MRI to be done before june and was told that was his appointment and that was that.
In june we went back to cardiff and meet with konrads consultant a xray was done and confirmed that konrads spine had worsened and the curve was now 57.5 degrees, we were told that konrad would need to b fitted with a brace ASAP to help slow it down until the MRI scan is done and then they will b looking to operate.
Konrad is a priority case and was given a appointment for thursday 14th of july he would have had a cast mould done of his upper body and then the brace would take 5weeks to make, that day come but we had a phone call to say it was cancelled and that konrad would be seen on the 25th of august meaning his brace wouldnt be fitted until the end of september. i cried and pleaded that it gets done sooner but was told that it wasnt possible, i explained that konrad curve was worsening and that he needs support if left that long the speed its goin it could reach 90+ degrees and become life threatening, stil i was told they couldnt change it. after speaking with a number of medical secretaries, doing loads of research and speaking with people going through the same thing, we decided that the only way to get our boy seen fast and get him the right treatment is to go private.
one year on and we stil have no answer here in wales we have been waiting 10months for a physio appointment.
unfortunately nothing is getting done here so
We will be taking Konrad to Great Ormand Street Hospital London, there is so much more available there and i think my little boy deserves the best possible chance. they can mould make and fit the brace within a week where as here in wales in takes 5 weeks the waiting times are crazy,.
As most people know we aint minted far from it and it kills me to say it but we cant afford to pay for konrads treatment by ourselfs,
so guys we would b forever gratefull if u could help in a small way, it would mean the world to us if we could get konrad the treatment that he needs. he is a beautiful boy who will make anyone smile, hes loving, wicked, funny, and hes got the best craziest personality ever and to me he is perfect. WE ALL LOVE HIM SO MUCH
the money raised will help pay for konrads treatment and travel back and fore london.
im not sure on the exact amount needed for konrads full treatment until we see the private consultant and know what treatment plan konrad needs, once we know this i will update everyone,
