Tony Caminiti Funeral/Memorial Fund

Donation protected
On July 3, 2016, we lost our hero. Our Papa.... Anthony “Tony” Caminiti passed away at 11:14pm with his beloved family by his side after fighting a long battle with Stage 4 Lung Cancer and dealing with the aftermath of a devastating stroke, which left him paralyzed 4 years earlier. His body grew tired and one week after his 49th wedding anniversary we lost our rock. He fought hard until the very end. Tony leaves behind his loving wife Rose, devoted daughter Jennifer, son Christopher, grandchildren and countless numbers of family and friends.

As Tony prepared for the fight, the family exhausted all of their financial resources to pay for his medical needs and accommodations. He required a level of care that wasn’t covered by his health insurance and adjustments had to be made to the house to accommodate his handicap needs. The family was forced to liquidate all of their assets to care for Tony. We no longer have the funds necessary to give Papa the send off this man truly deserves...

We have created this GoFundMe account to pay for funeral expenses and Tony's last wishes. The family is trying to make the final arrangements to lay Tony to rest and honor his life with a beuatiful memorial service.  A Celebration of Life! Please help us honor Papa's dying wishes...

Tony wants a portion his ashes  smudged into his favorite seat at Madison Square Garden during a New York Rangers game, with his family by his side as they were in his final moments. (We know we cannot "spread" his ashes in this public arena). Rangers games meant family time to Papa.  We need your help to make this happen.  As a die-hard Rangers fan, there is no other place that he wants to be other than New York City, his home. Papa would like the remainder of his ashes spread over the Brooklyn Bridge and all of his other favorite places in New York City. Please help honor a man that lived a life of courage and strength and made the world a better place. He influenced the lives of so many people and made such a positive impact in the hockey and academic community.  Please help us bring Papa home!

A man so great, who suffered for so long, did not deserve the hand that he was dealt. He fought like a champion and the family will not say that he lost the battle, but rather the battle is over and it was time to go home.
