This is a joint project of 'Kyogle Now'  & ' Rotary Club of Kyogle', Putting the community first.

Most of us a just one bad dicision away from homelessness, every day we struggle to stay afloat in this fast paced world. Some loose that struggle and spiral in to something they didn't expect.

some end up homeless from violence or abuse at home, financial issues that they couldn't control or just a bad life's choices;but none of them deserve what they have been left with, and it is a reflection of our own society that we just leave them there.

Whatever the reason it isn’t hard to comprehend a man’s slow spiral into homelessness and invisibility. Once on the street, people started to walk past him, ignoring him as if he didn’t exist… much like they do a piece of rubbish on the footpath. It’s not that people are bad, but if we make eye contact, or engage in conversation, then we have to admit they exist and that we might have a basic human need to care. But it’s so much easier to simply close our eyes and shield our hearts to their existence.

I not only feel their pain, I truly know their pain. I lived their pain. You’d never know it now but I was a homeless person. Seventeen years ago for about seven months, I lived in my truck on the Gold Coast. But today, I find myself looking away, ignoring the faces, avoiding their eyes — and I’m ashamed when I realize I’m doing it. But I really can feel their pain, and it is almost unbearable, but it’s just under the surface of my visage.

Please always remember, the homeless people you’ll ignore today were much like you not so long ago.

We are a group of Kyogle residents that loves our community and the people in it, this also includes all our homeless residents. We are one community and must support each other in times of need, the homeless are a part of us as a whole.

When there's a flood, house fire or a wild storms go through our community; we all rally together and help each other when we need it most.

We have a minority in our community that is often invisible, that need our help where. Many are too proud to ask for help... our Homeless residents need our help. This unit we intend to build will service Northern Rivers area, covering Kyogle LGA, Casino LGA and all the surrounding areas and villages.

Our homeless residents deserve the same dignity, the same right and the right to a shower as we do. They are a valuable part of our community, they may be a minority that need our help. These resident are as important as a family member who lost their house to a fire, to a flood or just to bad life choices or circumstances.

We are raising money to set up a truck  to supply our homeless residents with the dignity of a shower and clean clothes. These common every day luxuries that we take for granted, is not common to all our residents.

This mobile unit will also be made available to any residents that are displaced by fire, flood or any other disaster for no fee. We do intend to hire it out to events on weekend to help fund the service we will make available, hopefully making it self sufficient as much as possible

Some of our residents need our help now, therefore please stand with me and help me get this off the ground and help our fellow residents. Our residents in need range from children to the elderly and, we need to show them we care.

We will work with and leave the long term solutions and counselling to the many other organisations already doing this vital work, we wish to supply a shower and clothes washing facilities to those in need. Hygiene plays a vital role in good health and wellbeing; and getting a shower and clean clothes, can help protect a person’s mental and, physical health, and ultimately their safety.

I wish to thank you on behalf of our residents in need, these people will be very grateful for all the help you find in your heart for them. They are singles, couples, families and elderly resident in our community; that need that little extra hand.

As well as this gofundme campaigne, we have been doing other fund raising as every little bit helps.

Thank you very much for opening your hearts, feeling for them and for starting to see them.
