Hello, My name is Lynn Ewing and I am raising money to pay my medical bills and to replace our only vehicle which was recently totaled in a not at fault accident and keep the roof over our heads instead of being foreclosed on.
In January, 2016, I noticed I was getting fatigued easily but thought I'd caught a chill and just never got over it. My legs were tired and walking became more difficult. My health deteriorated to the point I had to take two showers in the morning, one to wash my hair and one to bathe my body, but even eventually that became more difficult and I ended up washing at the bathroom sink instead, finding it difficult to breathe and get around. I had no idea what was wrong with me. I just kept going to work, but I was down to pushing an office chair just to get around the office. I felt horrible and a burden to my office mates.
In April, 2016, I fell at home on my day off and was unable to get myself back up. I was just too weak. My husband and daughter had to pick me up when they got home from work. The next day my husband took me to the doctor's office and I fell trying to get back into our van and hit the back of my head. I was taken to the ER via ambulance and diagnosed with AFib, Congestive Heart Failure, and Chronic Respiratory Failure. I have been unable to work since then and have not gotten a paycheck since the end of April. Our Family Leave is unpaid. We do not have insurance, as insurance through our employer is too expensive and our small salaries do not pay enough to have Obamacare either. We are trying to get medicaid to come through, but that is a long and tedious business, so we are currently responsible for my 2 and a half week hospital stay and dr visits, etc. It is beyond our means.
We also recently received another heavy blow on June 30, 2016, when my husband and daughter were involved in an accident and our only vehicle, a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport was totalled. With all the dr bills and me not working and having no income, getting another vehicle will be extremely difficult to manage with payments again. Our van was paid off.
My husband and daughter, who are the only two working, have income that barely covers groceries and utility bills. We have to pay mortgage, too or we will be homeless. I need to keep a roof over their heads and food in their stomachs. (We were turned down for food stamps recently).
We need to start getting this right away so we can keep afloat and the stress level in the home can go down so I can recover and hopefully, eventually get back to work. This means the world to me that I have done what I can to keep my family from being destroyed. I love them very much and I will be forever thankful to all those who assist me. You are the angels in the world with the lights we look to in times of trouble.
