Mrs California Pageant

Dear Friends, 

I am excited to announce that I am the reigning Mrs. Hollywood. On 

April 11-13th, I will compete in the Mrs. California United States pageant, to be held at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Center in Thousand Oaks, CA. To participate, I must raise sponsorships from businesses, family, and friends. I need your help! This had been a dream of mine since 1995!

My platform is spaying and neutering and adopting form animal shelters. The reason I am so passionate about my platform is because I am a huge animal lover. I work as a volunteer at The Burbank Animal Shelter and I see first hand what happens to animals when we are overpopulated. It is estimated that over 4 million animals are euthanized each year due to overpopulation. Spaying and neutering makes a big difference: Just one unaltered female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 puppies in only six years. In seven years, one female cat and her offspring can produce an incredible 420,000 kittens! 

My goal with this title is to speak at many events in the state of California and educate the public on what I have learned about spaying and neutering and why they should adopt from a shelter or rescue. Not only is spaying and neutering a 100 percent way to prevent overpopulation it has many health benefits as well.

Spayed dogs are less likely to develop breast cancer and will not be at risk for ovarian or uterine tumors.  Neutered male dogs will not get testicular cancer and they will have a decreased chance of developing prostate enlargement. By neutering male dogs, you lessen their desire to roam, thus decreasing their risk for injury and transmission of infectious disease.
