Maya Village Belize sustainable tourism
Donation protected
Help a Mayan village in Belize grow responsibly, sustainably and in an eco-friendly way, as it responds to the quickly growing tourism industry.
San Antonio, Belize is a quiet Mayan village. It is tucked back in the pristine rain forest of the Maya Mountains, surrounded by ruins, ceremonial caves, waterfalls, pristine rain forest and all the wildlife that goes along with it.
This project utilizes resources currently available to the village, mainly nature, land and housing.
To start we are...
Building campgrounds for budget travelers
Renting unused housing for long term renters or families on vacation
Excursions to amazing places within and surrounding the village.
(with licensed tour guides living in the village)
Without intervention, the village will easily be exploited.
Help the Maya people of San Antonio Village, Belize own their future and grow their village in harmony with the surrounding jungles as they have done for thousands of years.
