Hello, Rem here this time. After thinking about it for a while, I've decided to end the donations and get my molar extracted instead of getting a root canal, which will save me $2000. I have just withdrawn the money and will start making dentist appointments as soon as possible, and I will be updating as I go!
I can't thank you all enough for your help, I really don't know how I would've done this without you. There's just no way I can think of that is a sufficient way to say thank you, the amount of generosity I've been shown is incredible. I plan to pay it forward, every cent, no matter how long it takes.
Thank you to everyone who helped, either by donating or signal boosting or just sharing some kind words. It all helped so much, thank you!
We are a little over 50% of our goal now! Thank you to everyone who has donated, posted this on their social media websites, and even to those who care about Rem but do not have the funds necessary to donate. You are all so amazing, and every dollar is so appreciated!
Thank you to everybody who has donated so far! We appreciate it so much and are almost half way to our goal because of all of your contributions!
"I've never taken donations for anything," Rem explained. "I don't like people to have to help me, I don't like taking money from people...but I don't know what else to do. I have no options and I'm in a lot of pain."
This is a video that Rem made, explaining her situation and thanking those who spread the word and those who donate.
"I'm not expecting anyone to help, I'm just hoping that there are people who will," she said.
"I am going to post updates regularly...I will post pictures of receipts and paperwork and anything that I can to show that this is what this money's going for because I'm not trying to abuse anyone's help."
If you cannot donate, please help by spreading the word! And thank you to those who have donated. Your contributions, big and small, are all so appreciated, you have no idea! Five dollars may not seem like a lot, but in the grand scheme of things it does make a difference and we appreciate everything. Don't feel that your amount is less appreciated, because that is not the case! Again, thank you all.
I am making this page for a good friend of mine who is always
generous with everything that she has, though that is not much. She has
had severe tooth pain for a year now and has been taking Ibuprofen every
day since November, which is extremely dangerous for her liver and only
helps a little bit, but the pain is too severe for her to handle
without it. Well, she finally found a low cost dentist who would give
her an exam for cheap so she could find out everything that was wrong
and get an estimate of the cost.
When she walked out of the
dentist's office with the verdict and the estimated cost, which was over
$4,000, she sobbed uncontrollably. She found out that she has two
severe infections, a root canal that is so extreme it will require small
gum surgery to remove some of her gums, four of her wisdom teeth need to
be extracted and one will require surgery to dig it out of the bone, she
needs six cavities filled, and she needs a deep cleaning that will
require them to numb her entire mouth because her pain levels are so
The total that she was given is over $4,000, and that does
NOT include the medicine that she needs to cure the infection, the
numbing, or the pain medication that she will need afterwards.
works a minimum wage job and $4,000 is half of what she makes in a year.
She has no health insurance and even low income and sliding scale
dentists can not make her dental work affordable.
her smile you wouldn't think that anything is wrong. Knowing her and how
generous she is with everything that she has, you wouldn't believe that
she needs someone to take the time out to be generous to her. She
touches the lives of people who meet her, she truly does.
please, please. Anything that you have, even if it is just a dollar,
WILL make a difference! She is even applying for credit cards (although
getting rejected due to not having enough credit history) and facing
major debt because she cannot take the pain any longer.
ALL of the
money raised will go directly to paying for these bills. She can post
bills, receipts, and photos as she goes through the process of fixing
