2018 MI Capitol Holiday Display

Donation protected
Due to the apparent retirement of the much-beloved Snaketivity, West Michigan Friends of TST wish to take up the challenge and privilege of displaying a Satanic holiday monument on the grounds of the Michigan State Capitol this year. We have received and approved a proposal from Technically Timeless LLC for an appropriate and noble display combining materialistic and esoteric idioms: The Star of Reconciliation.

From the artist's proposal:  "The concept is a clean, bold shape of the Baphomet head as a star with solar LED lights shining up from the base for striking shadow and light, a flickering light emanating from the flame of universal balance will make the lines between them dance. A nearly complete halo will connect the horns and ears but stop at the bottom to represent the inherent imperfection of the material form but also allowing the mouth of Baphomet to interact with the base to indicate the sharing of worldly knowledge. The base will be square for the four seasons, but oriented diagonally to the head for the directions of the compass without implying directional orientation, for none follow the same star on their path. It will also be stepped to represent the climb of self reliance and efforts to achieve illumination from the torch of knowledge. The words "Respite, shadow and darkness. Herald the morning star." are to be inscribed boldly in one of two places."

Now, we just need the money! There are three drafts of the monument that we have reviewed, each at a different size and cost. Of course, bigger is better and we would greatly like to maximize our presence in the 4-foot cube of space allotted to each Capitol ground exhibit.

That means West Michigan Friends of TST needs to raise $1500 for the monument itself and $500 to cover the cost of transporting it to Lansing, Michigan and to deal with whatever extra challenges this endeavor may present.  Any surplus money raised will be donated to The Satanic Temple.

Anyone who donates $10 or more and provides a mailing address will receive a holiday card with a photo from the unveiling event.  You can send address information privately to the campaign staff even if your donation is anonymous to public view.

We dearly hope that we can gather enough support to take advantage of this opportunity provided to us by the State of Michigan.   This fundraiser will be extended through December 15.

Ave Satanas!
