Help me march Spirit of Atlanta2015

Hi my name is Ryan Anderson, I've just recently been given a contract to march with the Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps in the baritone section for my second season. Thanks to generous donations, I was able to march with Spirit in 2014. I had best summer of my life, getting to perform in front of thousands of people across the country and compete against the best groups in the world. I've made amazing friends and learned that I can push myself past my limits. Getting offered the opportunity to return as a veteran member means the world to me. This corps is my family and I can't wait for what the 2015 season has in store. 

It is a big honor to become a member of this organization! I have worked extremely hard to receive a contract and am working hard to continue to be a positive addition to the corps. Spirit of Atlanta is world renowned for their educational excellence and is one of the elite organizations in the drum and bugle corps activity, with 20 appearances in the Drum Corps International World Championship Finals.

For those who aren't familiar with drum corps, it's is considered the "major league of marching music." Basically it can be described as a professional marching band. I will spend the summer becoming a better musician and performer. Along with that, I will develop self-reliance, discipline, leadership skills, and a strong self worth and work ethic. These are life skills, which cannot be gained through ordinary summer jobs, or week long musical camps. These character traits raise participating members to achieve higher levels than the average young adult will achieve.


For as long as I can remember I've wanted to be a part of a top drum corps. I've finally fulfilled the first part of my dream, to get a contract. The next equally difficult part is to be able to keep up with the financial obligation as a member.

The money paid for tuition goes to pay for instruments, equipment, uniforms, instruction, and facility rental, as well as transportation, food, and housing during the tour. The tuition doesn't include travel to and from camp, mouthpieces/sticks, laundry days, and extra spending on free days. Any donations are greatly appreciated! Whether it's $5.00 or $500.00.

Thanks for helping make my dream become a reality. I'm really looking forward to spending my summer with the Spirit of Atlanta!
