Non-Profit Artist Studio/Project Space

WHO WE ARE: Dynamo Arts Association is a non-profit arts association, established in August 1996 by a group of art students who decided to address the need of more affordable artist studios and alternative exhibition space in Vancouver, BC. (Brief history HERE). 

We have recently located to a smaller location, due to extraordinary rent increase and deteriorating building conditions. We went from a 6000 sq feet space complete with a woodshop, large common area, 450 sq feet of exhibition space and 16 artist studios. Our new location is a 3200 sq feet of storage space with 11 studios and a modest gallery. Suffice to say, despite this transition, our members have adjusted and we are quickly adapting and thriving in our new, clean and affordable space.

BEHIND THE NAME: Dynamo Arts Association is facilitated by a group of six volunteer board members, who also rent a studio space at Dynamo:

WHAT WE DO: Dynamo Arts Association, provides affordable artists' studios, as well as regular programming in the project space. We strive to engage the community with film screenings, monthly exhibitions and performance art, all held in our project space. In this way, Dynamo also helps artists exhibit their work and connect them to a larger audience.
