FIRST Robotics team TR-x 145

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a team comprised of area schools (Norwich, Sherburne-Earlville and Unadilla Valley.)  The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is a unique varsity sport of the mind designed to help high-school-aged students discover how interesting and rewarding the life of engineers and researchers can be.

The FIRST Robotics Competition challenges teams of young people and their mentors to solve a common problem in a six-week timeframe and build a robot using a standard "kit of parts" and a common set of rules. FIRST redefines winning for these students because they are rewarded for excellence in design, demonstrated team spirit, gracious professionalism, maturity, and the ability to overcome obstacles.

With limited time and resources, teams of students, with the support of adult mentors, build and program robots to perform challenging tasks in competition with other teams. They raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork and presentation skills, and perform community outreach. In addition to learning valuable STEM and life skills, participants are eligible to apply for $80M+ in college scholarships.

This donation will be used for supplies for building our robot as well as registration fees and accommodations for team members to attend various competitions.
