WHY PSI IS NEEDED TODAY

Many professional scientific societies claim to have adopted professional codes of ethics within the past few decades-but do they implement them?

If you ask Professor Hal Lewis who recently resigned in disgust from the American Physics Society, he'd tell you no! Lewis, in his letter of resignation from the American Physics Society shows how badly science associations are failing their members.

 

Give generously for this good cause knowing you can help to counter the creeping folly of misguided societies that appear to have been commandeered by political lobbyists and shills serving self-interested corporations or misguided national governments.

But even more importantly think of the financial savings and benefits you may enjoy as a subscriber member of this new regulated society. Once obtaining the necessary start up funds PSI will become registered as a charitable association in the U.S. (as per Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code) and chartered  to operate as a \'not for profit\' under the rules of the UK\'s Community Interest Company (CIC) initiative. Thus PSI can offer products and services to members free of burdensome federal tax.

WHAT WE NEED TO GET STARTED

We are looking to raise £15,000 from donors to get this much-needed venture off the ground. Once we have the start up funds we can become fully incoporated as a legally administered \'not for profit.\' Then PSI can act quickly to offer the full range of services subscribers expect from any reputable professional association.  

Please help get the ball rolling. We need funds to cover the essential start up costs such as basic office space, stationary and the costs of professional consultancy fees - plus further develop our bespoke web site . Once we have hit our £15,000 target we can speedily progress to implement the full range of services members expect from our competitor national associations.

But remember, because PSI will operate as a \'not for profit\' it guarantees to invest every penny it makes back into the society for the benefit of all member subscribers - but more significantly, for the advancement of principled science.

 

OUR CHARTERED AIMS:

 To promote:
 (a.) member interests and;
 (b.) the scientific method* building contacts and relationships with media, politicians; and decision makers;
 (c.) communication of scientific ideas effectively with non-scientists;
 (d.) education of non-scientists about the difference between verifiable science and advocacy.

 

*Scientific Method means: a comprehensive, objective, independent, transparent, empirical-based assessment of a hypothesis.

We are a group of 36 respected international scientists and related professionals. Mostly we are the authors of \'Slaying the Sky Dragon,\' the world\'s first full volume refutation of the greenhouse gas theory that was \"the talk of the Cancun Climate Conference\" ( Viscount Christopher Monckton).
