Help Kanayo Get a Wheelchair and Car

Hi all,
Some of you would of course know that I have been wheelchair bound the past 11 years after I was in a car accident, but some probably won't, even friends. Well now you do. :)
Very few people will also probably know that I have been almost completely financially dependent on my family the past 11 years, and surely or hopefully, you can understand how hard that has been for me.
Well I am glad to mention that all that dependence is about to come to an end, as after 4 long years of searching, I have finally found me a job and I am scheduled to start in the next week or 2.
Fortunately for me, with this new job, I am now set to start LIVING as opposed to EXISTING as I have been doing the past 11 years. Surely you know the difference, but if you don't, something that might help you appreciate the difference is the fact that I have very probably spent about 90-95% of the last 11 years of my life indoors. In other words, about 9 of the past 11 years of my life have been of spent indoors.
One thing I am going to be doing a lot of soon with this new job (which is to facilitate training in Project Management at some college ), is be quite active, and being active means I need a wheelchair that will be able to withstand the pressures of being active. And unfortunately, my current chair is not in the best of shape. So this page is about me trying to raise some money to get a new wheelchair, as I basically have no other options to do so. I have contacted several local and foreign charity organizations and have always drawn a blank each time.
In the same vein, besides a new wheelchair, something else that I desperately need, which will both allow me to "live" (as opposed to exist), and also allow me work that new job, is a car. One of, if not the main thing that has contributed to my not being able to go out very often, over the past several years, is a lack of mobility, specifically a car. And as I am set to begin this new job, it is ever so imperative that I not allow a lack of mobility jeopardize me ability to do the job. Sadly, public transportation in South Africa, where I live is not wheelchair friendly, and taxi's are extremely expensive (case in point is when I spent the equivalent of $100 -in local currency- on a cab in one day. Well more like a few hours). So taxi's as a way to get to and from work is really not an option.
So basically, I DESPERATELY NEED a car to be able to get to and from work, as I really don't have any alternative.
Which is why after several weeks of psyching myself and saying how I have nothing really to lose, and much more to gain, I decided to swallow my pride, or is it get out of my comfort zone(?) and ask for help. So this is what this is all about.
So will you please be willing to help me achieve my goal of being completely mobile and independent?
I am trying to raise about $8,500 to fund the purchase of a used car and a new wheelchair. The figures are broken down as: About $400 (or 5%) is taken by gofundme.com in fees. $6000 for the car. $500 for hand controls (which allows me drive a car with my hands instead of my legs{which don't work}) and lastly $1500 for a new wheelchair (1300 for the chair and 200 for shipping ). Yes I know that 7 grand is a lot of money and I can't expect it to be easy for anyone to give such amount (except if you are Oprah), but I know and think that it is easier to ask and give say $50 or $100. So if I am able to find say 70 people who are willing and able to donate say $100 or more to my cause, then I am almost home sailing or is it wheeling and driving?
So thank you one and all very profoundly for taking the time to read through all this, and thank you even so much more for any donations you give. It is and will be appreciated beyond belief.
