Bike Love Documentary's Two Wheel Drive

The Film:

Bike Love is an experiential narrative documentary film about Kara Minnehan's bike riding quest in Portland, Oregon.  On December 1, 2011 Kara gave up her car and began a year-long commitment of bike commuting for the purpose of experiencing the city's bike culture firsthand. The project illustrates the motorist to cyclist change process.  Throughout this journey, themes of feminism, community-building, sustainability, performance art and comedy are brought to life within the foundations of the Portland bike community.  Throughout the experience of living without a car, Kara is introduced to a new world, along with a range of challenges, allowing for self-exploration and personal growth.

Our Audience:

The film will appeal to The Bike Curious "“ those who are interested in bike-riding, but are too busy to make time, too nervous to try, too scared of change, or just not interested in doing it themselves. As Kara confronts these challenges herself, she utilizes humor, and the support of friends & family to overcome the inherent challenges of giving up a motorist lifestyle. The questions remain: will Kara become a confident bike rider?  And, what does it mean to live, bike and love?

The Soundtrack:

In partnership with Kink Radio (True to the Music), Bike Love will also create a soundtrack of the film's feature artists.
