Help Maddy continue treatment for RSD

Donation protected

MADELINE is our beautiful 19 year old daughter who needs everyone's continued help and support right now. Maddy has been fighting this battle for almost 3 years. Any donation you can contribute to Madeline would be appreciated very much.  All donations will only used for Madeline's treatments for RSD.

Madeline was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) formally known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) in February 2010. At first it affected her left knee but quickly spread to both lower legs, feet, arm and hip. Madeline went from being a very active High School Cheerleader, a honor role student and a fun and outgoing person to barely being able to walk. She is in pain 24 hours a day and she has lost range of motion and muscle mass that has altered her ability to walk. She's been living with unrelieved pain from CRPS/RSD; and the defining symptoms of irregular heart rate, dizziness, syncope and collapse, orthostatic hypotension, shortness of breath, excessive fatigue, heat/cold intolerance, memory issues, debilitating headaches and has also been diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Madeline's life has completely changed. She can no longer play her favorite sports, go to College and spends most days in bed

Maddy has been through many excruciating medical treatments and procedures which include 3 rehab programs, 12 nerve blocks, 5 day in hospital epidural, HBOT, countless PT, OT, ER visits, 5 hospital stays for pain management, chiropractor, tens, doctors and more doctors and the list can go on and on. In Nov. 2012 Maddy started a new treatment that is helping her. Once a week Maddy undergoes (TMS) Trancranial Magnetic stimulation with 1 hour of IV ketamine infusions. She is able to walk for longer periods of time, has increased her physical ability and for the first time in over a year, started to drive again. These treatments are not covered by insurance and are very expensive. One month out of pocket expenses are $1600. This does not include her regular medicine, Physical Therapy, Chiropractor and Psychologist to help her deal with this life changing condition. Our hope is with continued treatment she will continue to gain progress and hopefully reset the nerves that cause the pain

We are having a fundraiser event on Sunday, February 24, 2013 to help raise funds for this treatment. We will be coming together to raise money and support for Madeline's treatment and the awareness of RSD. By helping out you will assist in the contribution to cover medical expenses and to help Madeline get on the right path to recovery and off to the College of her dreams. We are truly blessed with wonderful Family and Friends and are truly grateful for all your support.

Imagine having your child be chronically ill and in constant, severe pain, sometimes debilitating pain 24/7. I know many people do not understand RSD/CRPS and the many complications that come with it. RSD; it is a debilitating and progressively chronic syndrome characterized by severe burning pain, pathological changes in bone and skin, tissue swelling and extreme sensitivity to tough. It is considered to have the highest pain imaginable on the MdGill Pain Scale. Even higher than terminal cancer. It has no known cause or cure. It can happen to anyone. In addition to the high pain level there is sensitivity to touch, sound, vibrations, etc. something as simple as taking a shower can set off incredible pain.

The reality of it all has been extremely overwhelming when it all started over 3 years ago.  As a family, we are determination to get the CRPS/RSD to go into remission or lower pain. The perseverance that Madeline shows each and every day is quite amazing..  she will never give up hope.
