NEWTOWN, CT Funerals & Memorials

On January 2, 2013 our friend Melissa's husband John Salva passed away suddenly. He was 40 years old. Together Melissa and John have two children. Jesse is seven and in second grade, Piper (PJ) is ten and in fourth grade. The Salva's came together with friends, church and neighbors after the tragedy that struck our community, finally a sense of peace was settling in when their father/husband was called to be another angel.

John was a hard working man. An auto mechanic by day and BMX dad after school and on the weekends. BMX made him happy. He shared his love of bikes and cars with everyone who met him and most importantly the kids. He was a loving father, loving husband and the bread winner for the Salva family.

Melissa is a wonderful mom. A hard worker and a lover of horses. She has taken time to volunteer to help with a very special Newtown horse. She works in the infant room at a local daycare and also caters nights and weekends at a popular restaurant.

Their son Jesse is an avid BMX racer, he loves swimming and was a shepherd in this years pageant at Newtown Congregational Church. He is a great kid! Piper (PJ) is a strong travel soccer player, committed to doing her best at school and was an angel in this years pageant at Newtown Congregational Church. She is also great with little kids. She is good big sister.

This family needs our help right now. They need to pay for gas, heat, food, funeral costs, rent etc etc.. They need our love and prayers. They need a cushion so Melissa has some time to grieve and get back on her feet. Every penny raised will go directly to the Salva family to help pay for immediate bills. As her friends we are 100% committed to helping Melissa and her kids. Every dollar helps and no donation is too small.
