Medical Brigade to Guatemala with NMGH

Donation protected

I am a 3rd year naturopathic medical student (graduating class of 2014). I am very excited that, in February 2013 a group of classmates and I at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine will have the amazing opportunity to head to Panajachel, Guatemala to work at a free community health clinic through Naturopaths Without Borders and Naturopathic Medicine for Global Health. During our time in Guatemala we will be seeing and treating patients, making house calls and learning ancient Mayan healthcare traditions, as a way to bridge the gap between the Western medical model and the traditional model of the Guatemalan culture in an efforts to bring a sustainable model of community healthcare to this region.

Through this experience I hope to strengthen my knowledge of medical diagnoses and naturopathic therapeutics. I also hope to increase my experience in the field of community-based healthcare for when I open my own practice in Toronto, after graduating. My goal is to use naturopathic medicine to strengthen the health of the world, one community at a time.

I am grateful for your contributions to my efforts to become involved with this amazing organization! Every little bit helps! Please forward this page on to anyone you know who might be interested in provided a donation! Thanks so much, everyone!
