Autism Project

We are an association of special needs educators from Lleida. Our work consists in caring and educating children with autism (ASD "“ Autism Spectrum Disorder) from age 3 to age 22. We need your help to better serve these children and to improve their quality of life.

Nowadays, this difficult task is being carried out in a small school in the center of the city with very few resources. Unfortunately the number of children with autism is growing and we have outgrown the school. Therefore, our goal is to move to a new school that will provide a calm and appropriate learning environment for our students. This new school is bigger and it is located in the outskirts of the city.

In order to make this project a reality we need to make the building handicapped accessible since it was not designed to be used as a special needs school. Some of the improvements that are needed include bathroom remodeling, the removal of some architectonic barriers, the remodeling of the reception, the kitchen and the dining room areas. This new school also has a playground area that needs to be cleared and adapted for special needs children. We would also love to be able to buy some playground equipment to promote the students' autonomy and personal development through a safe environment. We are willing to make part of the work ourselves but to make this dream come true for these special needs children we need your help and support by making contributions.

NUESTRO SUEÑO::NUESTRA ESCUELA

Somos un colectivo de personas de Lleida dedicadas a la atención y educación de niños/as con autismo (TEA- Trastorno del Espectro Autista) de edades comprendidas entre los 3 y los 22 años.

Actualmente, nuestra labor la llevamos a cabo en una pequeña escuela con pocos recursos en el centro de la ciudad. Nuestra gran ilusión es poder trasladarnos a un nuevo entorno más amplio y tranquilo para mejorar la calidad de la atención que las personas con autismo necesitan.

Para llevar a cabo este proyecto necesitamos poder habilitar unas instalaciones que disponemos, pero que actualmente no están adecuadas a las características y necesidades de estos niños/as con autismo.  Las mejoras que proponemos se centran en la supresión de barreras arquitectónicas (remodelación de los aseos y el acceso principal a la Escuela), habilitación de la zona de comedor escolar y cocina y adaptación del entorno para poder favorecer la autonomía y desarrollo personal de estos niños/as (remodelación de las zonas exteriores de juego).
