Hello Everyone, All the bricks have been...
Hello Everyone,
All the bricks have been ordered and the statue is underway. The 27th of July is the dedication ceremony in Concrete, WA. Planning for the event is ongoing and details will be posted as they are confirmed.
Jason Vose is working through the Airborne portion. I have noted a few of you who have expressed interest in participating and will push information to you once I have specifics. In order to best prepare for your participation I will need the following:
- Date of last jump (Jump log)
- MFF certificate
- HAP Chamber card
- Hazardous duty orders
- Jump Master currency for all those interested in JMing.
There is the possibility this will be a civilian craft jump but in any case, those jumping will be required to submit the above documentation to ensure legal participation. If this will be military run, I will provide you with the OPORD and required documentation to best plan.
If you are interested, please send me the above documentation by 15 June so we can properly plan. Thank you.

Hello Everyone!! It gives me great pleasure...
Hello Everyone!!
It gives me great pleasure to update you all with a photo of the work being done by Stan Watts as he progresses in the initial stages of developing the statue of Doug. This is a very rough draft of the end product so any artistic criticism will be put to rest when the final product is standing proud in Concrete, WA.
This Thursday is the absolute last day to get your sentiments in. I will be placing the brick order on 26 April as stated before. If you see this message after the 26th, I will work with you should you want to make a change to your originally posted message. Many have confirmed with either myself or Michael Frank and therefore do not need to provide any more information unless you change your mind of course.
The 26th will be the last day in which donations can be made and memorialized with a brick, BUT THE SITE WILL REMAIN OPEN. Any donations received after that will support the cermony but unfortunately there will be no more availability of bricks. More updates to follow in the coming weeks. Thank you all again, so much.

Hello again, 15 April has passed and...
Hello again,
15 April has passed and I have about a 60% confirmation of what everyone wanted engraved on their statue-base bricks. Given some requests for more time, I can delay the brick order until no later than 26 April. This is the last day that will ensure delivery with enough time to install prior to the 27 July dedication ceremony.
Michael Frank, a life-long friend of Doug's and integral part of this effort will be contacting many of you to help confirm brick wording. If you receive an email from him in regards to this subject, please provide him the information required.
Again, thank you all so much and more to follow as the statue is crafted and the ceremony detailed.

This project is a memorial statue with full dedication ceremony immortalizing a fallen hero. The memorial will be crafted by an individual artisan and built on Concrete, WA High School grounds where Douglas Vose started his life leaving an impression on the people; the true definition of honor, respect, courage, and hard work.
The statue will be a life-sized bronze sculpture of Doug in his Green Beret Uniform (Army Greens) and will be dedicated to the town of Concrete on July 27th 2013, two days prior to the 4 year anniversary of his death. The base of the statue will be constructed of engraved bricks in which sponsors will be literally supporting Doug's statue with their own words and memories.
The ceremony will be conducted at Concrete's High School. In addition to the dedication of the statue, the ceremony will include a full day of festivities in celebration of Doug's amazing life and sacrifice. Doug's brother, a Marine Corps Officer, has coordinated the day to include parachute operations with Force Recon and Army Special Forces who knew and fought with Doug.
