from around the world who believes in a simpler, greener way of
living, this is our funding page.
We invite you to participate with us in the construction of a yoga centre where sustainable living and yogic knowledge will be experienced personally by all who visit, this place will also be the home of a charitable foundation.
For years we have been directing our lives in accordance with the deeper aspects of our nature, greener living and yogic knowledge, every experience and situation we have been through has lead us to the decision of putting all our life savings into the creation of:
The Yoga Village Project
and
The International Yoga Teacher Training Fund.
Until now, we have tried to live our lives by current standards, and for years have been sacrificing our bodies and minds in a constant search for fulfilment. Our realisation of the necessity to share a life-style impregnated with yogic aspects and sustainability has become stronger and is now coming to fruition though this funding page.
This is the perfect opportunity for you to help us to help others in a way that would extend beyond those who we help personally, to the people around them as well.
The Yoga Village will be a place where the fusion of nature, modern science, healthy living and the pantheon of yogic knowledge all come together. The profits that are made from this initiative will go in to the International Yoga Teacher Training Fund, which will be available to those who are unable to afford teacher training programmes.
We have just bought the land in Spain, in the southern area of Aragon next to Catalonia, and can we just say it is beautiful. It is like a forgotten part of Spain.
We have almost three acres of old olive groves, right next door to a national conservation area and a thirty minute walk to the river Ebro (Ebre).
The old olive groves have not been cultivated for the last thirty years and as such are very overgrown, but it is covered with rosemary and thyme plants. The land surrounding is covered with pine trees and beautiful rock formations.
With two flat areas for gardens and a small valley for accommodation the land is perfect for our needs.
At the moment we have no water or electricity on site, but these will come with funding, time and ingenuity.
There is an old stone wall building which are currently working on renovating, reinforcing the walls, and putting the roof back on, once we have finished this we will be moving on the the land on a more permanent basis. At the moment we working there during the week and returning to a friend's place in the city on weekends.
The land and all the processes involved in getting it were more expensive than we originally had planned even over the maximum we had allowed for, so we really need help in funding.
The buildings are going to be made with a technique called 'Earth-Bags,' which are very similar to adobe construction, not only is it a green technique, it is also good value for money and exceptionally strong. We had planned for enough funds of our own to buy the first lot of bags to build with. Now what we really need is funding in order to start building the yoga room and accommodations.
A little about us, we are Deva and Greg, we have been together for four years. Deva has been a Yoga teacher for over 10 years, and Greg is a graduate in Anthropology. We used to run an underground supper club and catering company in Brighton, England, alongside Deva's yoga classes, and my university studies.
As we said earlier we are using all of our life savings to start this but we do not have enough, so we are asking kind hearted people around the world to help us, so that we, in turn, can help others.
Everyone who donates will have their names featured in a memorial on the site, no matter how much you give you will have a place with us.
