150 AIR CADETS PILGRIMAGE TO VIMY

Donation protected
In honour of the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge in 2017 the 150 Hamilton Tiger Air Cadet Squadron is preparing for a pilgrimage to France to honour Canada’s participation in this pivotal battle.

“Many historians say that the Battle of Vimy Ridge is where Canada truly became a nation.  The sacrifices made by our soldiers in this battle were critical to the Allies’ victory in World War One.  The opportunity for our Cadets to visit Vimy Ridge in 2017 for the 100th anniversary is a unique and special opportunity.” said Captain Cory Chapman, Commanding Officer of the 150 Hamilton Tiger Squadron.

Our Cadets are working hard to support their pilgrimage to Vimy however raising enough money to support this endeavour is challenging.

The Royal Canadian Air Cadet program provides youth between the ages of 12 and 19 with the opportunity to gain valuable leadership skills and take part in fun and exciting activities.  Cadets participate in aviation hands-on activities such as building model aircraft as well as getting an introduction to the various tools and technologies linked to aviation.  There are also opportunities to take part in music programs, marksmanship competitions, survival skill activities, physical fitness challenges as well as learning about Canada’s history and democracy.

Please help us send our youth to pay tribute to Canada's Heroes.

Please note that this trip will not receive final authorization from DND until the fall of 2016.  Please be assured that any donations to the trip fund will be directed to other essential squadron activities in the event that something unforseen happens and trip is not able to proceed.
