Help a woman who is trying to get her life together, big time.

Sarah is a 28 year old woman who has never had much of a chance. Her father struggled to raise her and two brothers when their mother left the family and almost literally disappeared from Sarah's life - and the mother blamed it on her, a young child, for the reason why she left. Sarah's father is mentally ill. He is on disability and cannot help her out.

After growing up and getting out, she tried to go to college and keep down a job, however circumstances kept her down in the poverty level, circumstances which ranged from losing the job after a few weeks from company closures, having to move suddenly to keep a roof over her head when boyfriends or roommates decided to not pay their share of the rent, car breakdowns, accidents which put her in the hospital multiple times - and none of these were from fault of her own. It seems that life wants to get rid of Sarah, and yet she's persisted. She's never gotten into drugs, alcohol, smoking, or stealing despite all of the pressure of life.

Over the years, her friends have tried to help. Telling her of jobs or getting her jobs, helping her repair her cars, Sarah has been more than willing to take on ANY work or ANY repair herself if she could do it. And yet life continues to drag her down. She managed to get herself into culinary school, graduating, and got a internship at a restaurant where she did quite good, until the restaurant no longer could pay her a proper wage due to the nature of the business. She had to find another job.

Recently, she got a job, which was doing very well but then the hours have been cut to the minimum due to the nature of the job at this time to require that. Then, her car's transmission reverse went out, and with a cracked windshield, and expired plates, she can't drive it legally. All of this at the exact same time.

All right when she had just signed up to start college, a real college at a upstanding respected university. She's smart as hell and got in with no problems. She wants to do science, and a work-study program along with holding onto the job above. She wants to work, and work hard for her dream of becoming a scientist. All of her friends help her by hiring her to do minor work such as cleaning, but we can't do much more for her. That car of hers needs fixing, and it's a good solid car otherwise. It's the only thing standing in her way of her dream. We are now turning to fundraising to help her get the transmission repaired, windshield replaced, and plates redone. We think the absolute minimum for all this will be $1500.
