#110 Help Cambria Tate Fight AFM

Donation protected

On September 23, 2016 we were admitted to Balboa Navel Hospital in San Diego. Within about 15 hours of admittance Cambria was diagnosed with the most sever case of AFM, which is Acute Flaccid Myelitis. She had Acute Respiratory Failure and this happens when the muscles involved with breathing become weak. To be perfectly honest she nearly passed away numerous times. With that being said, She was intubated and placed in a medically induced coma for 3 weeks. She had zero reflexes and at this time, nearly 2 months later she is proving to be what we call a modern day miracle - God is good! Cami has paralysis in her left arm and right leg, but is gaining some mobility. Some are calling AFM a modern day polio like disease OR virus rather. God set her up with a Dream Team of Doctors and Nurses who quickly took action to save her life. In fact, because there is no cure for AFM we as a family and her Dream Team decided on a somewhat new regiment very similar to what has been given in the past, but different in dosage as well as the line up - it's because of this -We believe the quick action of our team catching it in its Acute stage saved Cambria's life! ABOVE ALL, ALL THE GLORY TO GOD - Cambria is making a miraculous recovery

Cambria will need long term rehabilitation as well as adaptive equipment, this is what we are raising funds for.

There will be unforeseen cost for her future as well as her long term care - such as, physical therapy type tools all things for her rehabilitation! We are currently experiencing all the day to day expenses while we have been here at Balboa Naval PICU for going on 2 months.

Some information on Cami's diagnosis:

• Acute flaccid myelitis affects nervous system, specifically the spinal cord
• Fifty people have had it from January to August, CDC reported on Monday
• Increase is similar to 2014 outbreak that paralyzed 120 children in the US
• Symptoms can escalate dramatically and leave children paralyzed in a matter of days
• Children typically need a ventilator to help them breathe; no specific treatment has been found
