"Time is free, but it's priceless..."
The 10th graders are studying TIME!
Using time as a theme, we will explore the mathematical concepts of irrational numbers, complex/imaginary numbers, similarity, right triangle trigonometry, and geometric measurement and dimension!
In studying these topics, we want to build a variety of different artifacts, namely real functioning clocks (that are slightly irrational or imaginary), a sundial for the school, and some hourglasses that remind us the importance of how we spend our time.
In order to buy supplies (wood/acrylic for laser cutting, water colors, clock movements, jars, etc, we need about $500 to add to our team budget.
