iPad for Jax

A little over a month ago I posted a song I wrote. I am happy to announce that ALL proceeds of this song that I put on iTunes will go towards one of my friend's (Kyle Zarwell) sons that has CP. It will be used for Kyle and Laura to purchase an iPad for Jax. All orders that were downloaded in the past will be included in this benefit as well. Jax was born December 24, 2009 at a weight of 3lb 5oz and 16in long. About three weeks after birth, Kyle and Laura were told he had a Grade IV IVH (intraventricular hemorrage) in his brain. Approximately, a year later it was determined that the IVH directly caused Jax to be diagnosed with CP (cerebal palsy). His type of CP is called Left Side Hemiplegia. The CP only affects his left side. He walks on his toes on his left foot and his left hand is mostly in a fist, but with the assistance of recently purchased braces his walking is getting better and his hand is focused as a helper hand. With the iPad, we are hoping to allow the muscles in his left hand to work so that he may use it more appropriatly as he grows. Also, we are hoping that the iPad may help him to develop more of a vocabulary. He doesn't speak many words and mostly communicates through grunting and pointing at what he wants. He does speak, it's just the amount of words he can say is limited. Jax receives in home therapy to help him overcome the obstacles in life however at the age of 3, therapy will stop and he will then receive therapy in school.
