In a game of rugby in November 2024 Gerwyn, Chair of Essington rugby club, sustained a serious neck injury and since the game he has been in hospital where he is receiving ongoing treatment and rehabilitation for his injury.

The injury has changed his and his family’s lives and although he is getting fantastic support from the Injured Players Foundation, the RFU, the local Staffordshire RFU and the local rugby clubs, Essington are trying to raise funds to help in the support of Gerwyn and his family for now and in the future.
