London Marathon 2025 Meal SA Ashraful Aid Fundraiser

MEAL SA is a humanitarian organization rooted in the South African spirit of Ubuntu, embodying the belief in shared humanity and compassion. Established in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, MEAL SA began with a mission to feed the nation, addressing the urgent hunger crisis caused by the pandemic's widespread disruptions. Over time, our efforts have expanded into a range of impactful initiatives, providing both immediate relief and long-term support to vulnerable communities.

Our Establishment:
MEAL SA was founded in response to the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Recognizing the dire need for food security, we launched the Mealie Meal Campaign, which delivered food parcels to thousands of struggling households across South Africa. As the pandemic evolved, we also undertook vaccination drives to ensure greater community access to life-saving vaccines, further demonstrating our commitment to health and well-being.

Our Key Initiatives and Campaigns:

1. Gift of Mobility Initiative (established 2024):
MEAL SA partners with the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) and Raslouw Private Hospital to provide life-changing medical treatment to children injured in the Gaza conflict. These include cases of amputations, severe burns, and other trauma, reflecting months of dedication to each child’s recovery and well-being.

2. Mealie Meal Campaign (established 2020):
Launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, this initiative provided food parcels to families facing starvation in South Africa. It marked the beginning of MEAL SA’s journey, helping thousands of households during one of the most challenging periods in recent history.

3. COVID-19 Vaccination Drives (established 2020):
MEAL SA played a vital role in promoting health and safety by organizing vaccination drives, ensuring access to vaccines for underserved communities and contributing to the nation’s pandemic response.

4. Urgent Care Fundraiser for Rodwell (2021):
MEAL SA spearheaded a fundraiser for Rodwell, a young man from Zimbabwe who suffered severe injuries after being attacked by a hyena. The campaign provided urgent medical care and support for his recovery, showcasing the power of community-driven humanitarian efforts.

5. Winter Blanket Drives (established 2020):
During the coldest months in South Africa, MEAL SA organized blanket drives to ensure warmth and comfort for those without proper shelter. These drives remain a testament to our commitment to caring for local communities.

6. Disaster Relief Campaigns:
MEAL SA has consistently responded to natural disasters and humanitarian crises, delivering essential aid and relief to communities affected by floods, earthquakes, and other emergencies. Our efforts have extended across South Africa and beyond, including regions in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, providing much-needed support to rebuild lives and restore hope.

Our Vision:
To create a world where those in need are never forgotten, MEAL SA strives to bring light into lives shadowed by hardship. By offering immediate relief and fostering long-term empowerment, we aim to transform despair into hope and rebuild communities with dignity and resilience.

Our Values:

Ubuntu: Recognizing our shared humanity and acting with compassion to uplift others.
Empathy: Every initiative is driven by care and a deep understanding of human needs.
Integrity: Transparency and trust define all our actions and relationships.
Collaboration: Partnerships amplify our impact, allowing us to reach more people and make a greater difference.
Sustainability: We focus on creating solutions that extend beyond immediate relief and provide lasting benefits.

Our Commitment:
From feeding the nation during a pandemic to aiding disaster-stricken communities, MEAL SA has consistently demonstrated the power of compassion and collective action. Whether through food parcels, vaccination drives, or emergency medical care, our work reflects a dedication to uplifting humanity and inspiring hope in the darkest of times.
