My friend Heather has been experiencing some medical issues which are impacting all areas of her life.

On 9/11/25, she had a random episode of vomiting along with extreme upper left abdominal pain. She didn't think much of it at the time, but the episodes of vomiting, abdominal pain, and severe nausea continued. She also began to not be able to eat without vomiting.

She saw her primary care physician the following week, who began ordering tests. However, the episodes worsened, which led her to hospitalization the following weekend due to starvation ketoacidosis.

Since 9/11/25, she has not been able to do anything other than sip on water or Pedialyte to sustain herself. She has lost over 20 pounds. She has not been able to work or care for her 4-year-old son due to the illness, weakness, and ongoing medical care. This is vital as she is the primary financial support for her son; she is also a 1099 employee in her job with no paid time off benefits.

She has been in numerous ERs and is in and out of the local hospital. Doctors continue to run tests but have not been able to determine what is causing her symptoms. She is also waiting for a gastroenterology appointment a month away.
