Help the Smokehouse Sandwich Co. (Richmond, BC)

Hello, my name is Debbie. I am a friend of Rico and C.C. Verzosa, whom I have known through Usborne books, homeschooling and eating their delicious, hand-crafted sandwiches! This family is generous, gregarious, hard-working and compassionate! Yesterday, (Sunday, January 23, 2022), they became victims of vandalism when their business was broken into (front door smashed and cash register ripped out and stolen). Thankfully no one was hurt.

 

Rico and his visionary wife, C.C., had just been starting out, having immigrated from the Phillippines. Yet in a few short years, they have established themselves to be one of Richmond's favourite eateries, "putting love into what we do". Not only that, but they have partnered with Richmond Baptist Church to feed those in need.

 

You may be a customer, reading this, and have a favourite sandwich. Did you know the "Sarah" - a scrumptious pulled tamarind chicken sandwich with aioli - is named after Rico's grandmother, who taught him how to "dream with his eyes open". So whether you're a fan of their ginger lemon honey drink, or the Tocino Burrito (or like me, The Samson with their hand-made potato crisps!), give and give generously to help them get back on their feet. Help Rico and C.C. continue to build their dream, in the face of adversity, and make Richmond a better place.
