Penn Street Market 2016

We're an open-air farmers market in downtown Reading that features locally grown fresh fruit, vegetables, produce, dairy products, artisan cheeses, breads and more! 

The Market hosts a wide range of family programs; live entertainment; healthy cooking demonstrations; Art in the Open community art projects; youth activities and more.

We aim to:
-Promote food access in the City of Reading.

-Strengthen food systems by connecting local farmers to consumers, and stimulating our local economy.

-Cultivate a thriving seasonal event through free entertainment, education, and community programming to engage all community members.

CALL TO ACTION: We need YOUR help!
The Penn Street Market is a grass roots community initiative that needs support.  So many people from the community have asked, "how can I help?".  This campaign is an easy way to support the Penn Street Market with your local dollars that create local economic impact for our local farmers, artisans, crafters and their families.

Please help us celebrate the 250th anniversary of the original deeding of the Penn Street Market by giving a symbolic donation of: $2.50, $25.00, $250, or $2,500!  Donations of any amount will create the collective impact that we need to support the market!!!

-Provide FREE programming to the community:

        ~Children's Storytime 
        ~Active Lifestyle Wellness activities
        ~Art In The Open programs (art, dance, theatre)

-Expand our Berks Farm Bucks program incentive tokens available for SNAP & WIC purchases
-Provide bi-lingual services to the community

This campaign has been created to support the Penn Street Market.  The market is for everyone in our community, and we are in the deepest gratitude for each and every person who shopped, worked, volunteered, visited, and played at the market in 2015.  We hold a space at the very heart of downtown Reading that is important to provide food access, education, community building, beautification, revitalization and much more!  It is because of you, that we can host the market....THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
