HELP CLARA'S HOUSE AND ZACCEAUS SHELTERS

 
Hello, there are two compassionate not- for- profit organizations in the city of Chicago that's making a difference in the lives of men, women and children everyday, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. I desire to help these organizations because they are changing the lives of homeless men and battered women everyday- giving them and their children food, shelter, encoragement and resources to help transform their lives and reach their God-given destiny and potential. The two caring organizations are CLARA'S HOUSE in the Englewood community & ZACCHAEUS HOUSE in the Roseland community. (Please note these organizations are not affliated with each other.)

My desire is to help both organizations but I can't do it by myself, it takes other like minded and kindhearted people to want to open up their hearts, then their hands to help someone in need. I am asking you to please consider donating to this fund that will help benefit so many deserving men, women, and children at these organizations. All donations will help assist both not-for-profit organizations with the following expenses: food, housing, operational (i.e. light bill and gas bill- yes they get those too!), housing materials, and other necessary expenses, goods and materials!

In addition, both of these shelters have wonderful, loving and amazing people that's in need of a lot of things, some who are working while they are living in the shelter. (Yes their are people who are employed, yet homeless!!!) So a portion of proceeds will help purchase a used and reliable car for one person with a job, that lives at the housing/apartment section of CLARA'S HOUSE. One reliable vehicle will be purchased under $5,000, and will be purchased by the organization and given over to a tenant they feel will benefit from having a vehicle to help them get to- and- from work, school, church, doctor appointments- whatever!

In addition, that person will receive a $2,400 Gas card that will help them pay for gas estimated for about 24 wks/6 months at $100 per week (24wks x $100.00 = $2,400.00).

All of this ofcourse, can only be done by your much needed support and love donations to someone in need. So many more can benefit from having a reliable car and a gas card to help support their family and children; but for now, all I ask is for enough funds to purchase one car, a $2,400.00 Gas gift card, and to give a monetary donation to BOTH of these caring not-for-profit shelters: CLARA'S HOUSE AND ZACCHAEUS HOUSE.

Will you be the one to help brighten up someone's day, put a smile on someone's face, put dancing in a homeless person's feet, joy in a battered woman's torn, hurting, and abused heart?

All I ask is for you to give whatever you can to support this LOVE MOVEMENT and ALL proceeds WILL go to benefit all these lovable and deserving people- our fellow sisters and brothers in need.

Founded in 1983, Clara's House has been providing services to homeless and neglected women and children in the Englewood community.

Giving woman and their children hope, providing a safe, peaceful, loving home. Providing opportunity, encouragement, and empowering women with the skills and the self-confidence to work for a brighter future for their family.

The the demands of the shelter is at an all time high. The shelter remains at capacity, and we continue to have an ongoing need for funds to help pay for the costs of the operations at Clara's house.

Our mission is to improve the quality of life for families and community residents without regard to race, religion, or origin.

We design our programs to meet basic needs for employment, housing, health care, and education through training and projects directed at advocacy, social services, empowerment, and self-awareness.



ZACCHAEUS HOUSE

Zacchaeus House offers mercy and grace to men in need. It is a home for men who need to take time to heal as well as a provide a home for those men who are homeless. Chicago's Archbishop George describes Zacceaus House as a "transitional safe house" for men who want spiritual direction. It is not a treatment center, halfway house, or shelter but a place of evangelization and a home for those who want to stablize their lives and find Chirst.

Zacchaeus House is a not-for-profit, non-treatment home for men, providing a safe, supporting and spiritual home to men in transition that features Church leaders and community to those being served. A practical, spiritual approach is offered, starting men off with a structure and a holistic look at the life for the first 30 days emphasizing spirituality, life skills, prayer and church attendance; after the first 30 days both job and education development will also be emphasized in addition to continuing growth in spirituality. Deacons, who also serve as members of the larger community, will be mentors. Men can live at Zacchaeus House for up to two years.

Zacchaeus House mission is to help men permanently transform themselves into a stable and productive life through our Lord Jesus Christ.
