'Couch to the Congo' challenge
As a thank you, everyone who donates will be automatically entered into our Prize Draw to WIN some amazing prizes, including a Swansea City Football Club shirt signed by the 2019/20 team, an Ospreys Rugby shirt signed by the 2019/20 team, a rugby ball signed by rugby legend James Hook, and much more! Prize Draw will be made on the day we reopen. You will get one entry per £1 donated. The more you donate, the better your chance of winning.
Plantasia is no different to many businesses in Wales, where the Covid-19 pandemic has created many challenges. As a zoo, our income is derived from the many visitors that come through our door each day, and experience our great offer. As we closed our doors on March 22nd our income disappeared but our work did not stop. Our amazing specialist team is still caring for and feeding over 100 animals on site, and like all zoos in the country we still need to pay for food, heating and veterinary care. It's for these reasons we need your help.
To raise awareness of the current situation for all zoos, the team at Plantasia will complete the equivalent of 3791 miles, cycling, walking or running their way to our nearest tropical rain forest in the Congo. With Plantasia being a tropical forest zoo this is a great challenge to take on.
The 'Couch to the Congo' challenge starts on Wednesday 20th May and runs for many days and weeks till completion.
We're asking for donations to support our 'Couch to the Congo' challenge and help cover the costs of our animal care. This will ensure that Plantasia can continue its mission to educate visitors, conserve endangered animals, and offer a great day out for our communities.
We understand that this is a difficult time for everyone, but your support really does mean the world to us. Any donation, be it big or small, will ensure we can continue to care for our animals, and continue to welcome thousands of more guests in the future.
