African American Cultural Collabo

The Trenton African American Cultural Festival organization helps to bring awareness, entertainment and cultural insight to Trenton and surrounding areas.
The T. A.A.C.F Executive Board strives to highlight important connections between our state's constituent areas while bridging diversity, inclusion and cultural values. Since 2011 the home base of our events has been at Cadwalader Park in Trenton, New Jersey.

T.A.A.C.F has provided a variety of events throughout the year that include a Youth Sports and Health Expo, Trenton Youth Film Festival, Art Exhibit at Ellarslie Museum in Cadwalader Park, Black History Month Events and the T.A.A.C. Festival that has attracted thousands to the park for the past five years.

We are pleased to announce that the overall mission and vision of the festival has led to the creation of an even larger, more inclusive entity to serve the residents Mercer County and beyond. In the spring of 2016, the Trenton African American Cultural Festival organization, along with community based support and sponsorship evolved into the African American Cultural Collaborative of Mercer County.  In efforts to become "more than just a festival", the goal of the collaborative is to Educate, Empower and Unite Africans in the diaspora through cultural arts, health and wellness, entertainment and sports.  The inclusion of people of all racial backgrounds will help to solidify community relations and celebrate our rich history and heritage in multiple venues.

To that end, a summer Block Party Series entitled "Back to Basics" started on the first Friday in May.  Scheduled to run until the first Friday in September, these events were started in efforts to revitalize after hours downtown Trenton, while taking family and friends back to the tenets of fellowship, food and fun.  With sponsorships from the Trenton Downtown Association, 1911 Smokehouse, CWA Local 1039, Mercer County Community College and Children's Futures, these events have also permitted the showcase of local talent including spoken word artists, specialty vendors and music industry notables such as Trenton's own Showtyme.  Informational vendors have also been permitted to participate providing free information about health issues and remedies affecting our community.

Additionally, in 2016 the African American Cultural Collaborative of Mercer County will be working alongside the Trenton Museum Society and the Paul Robeson House of Princeton to sponsor an art and history exhibit entitled "Against All Odds: Inspired by the Life of Paul Robeson" during the months of July, August and September.

Other community events we have scheduled in downtown Trenton include a Jazz/Comedy Festival on July 31, 2016 at Mill Hill Park.  Our current sponsors are CWA Local 1039 and PBA Local 105. Plus, we are planning an Empowerment Through Music Gospel Celebration on August 28, 2016 at the Capital Green, located behind the State Capitol in downtown Trenton.

During the month of August the African American Cultural Collaborative also plans to host a Youth Sports Expo, Children's Village and mini-festival at Cadwalader's  Gullie Park.

We have also managed to launch an app available on IPhones and Android, called "Mercer Collabo App". A one-stop click to discover and explore events in Mercer County. This app will provide ability to find opportunities, deals, local resources, sports events, concerts, parties, festivals, conferences, networking events and much more.

All events being offered throughout the city are FREE!  We are only able to finance these ventures with the support of sponsorships and donations received to date.  As much as we enjoy sponsoring these enriching events across the city, the financial ability to maintain them is burdensome.  Our Executive Board and Executive Committee has been struggling to meet budgetary goals.  We are doing everything we can to obtain funds from various business entities but we are still falling short. Our intentions remain the assurance that we produce high quality events our community has come to love in previous years. This includes using creative measures like GoFundMe for help from generous donors such as you.

Without you coming out to support every year, we are not successful! You deserve the best of the best and nothing less! Please help us to achieve our financial goals! We are asking for any donations you can give! Nothing is too small!

Thank you and may many blessings come your way!!
